Meet alumnus Thomas Schiff, celebrated photographer and his unique perspectives presented through the lens of his panoramic camera; Nancy Rue former associate dean of University 库 and her sheet music collection, many from the Tin Pan Alley era; and alumnus Joel Forrester and his original jazz compositions, audio recordings and personal writings.

Frank Buhla Collection
The Frank Buhla Collection, highlighted in this publication, not only provides photos of coal mining and early industries in Southeast 俄亥俄州, but also provides a glimpse into the life of the collector. A unique individual, Buhla’s lifetime of experiences as a miner, 拳击手, 酒保, magician and collector are firmly rooted in 雅典 County, 俄亥俄州.

University 库 invites you to explore the annual “聚会 Spotlight, 2022,” which highlights significant World War II manuscript collections from the 库’ Mahn Center for 档案 and Special 集合. We hope you enjoy reading about the personal stories behind each of these collections during a very tumultuous period in the history of the world.

Welcome to the newest issue of 聚会, where we are highlighting “Innovate + Collaborate", an initiative honoring collaborative projects between the 库’ staff and other 俄亥俄州 faculty and staff to advance teaching, learning and research across the University. This publication also hosts the documentary video, “An Interview with 格拉迪斯Bailin.” In 2019, 格拉迪斯Bailin, director emerita and distinguished professor from the School of Dance, established the Alwin Nikolais/Murray Louis/格拉迪斯Bailin Archive Fund to preserve and promote those dance collections for future generations. 和, for those who have not experienced working and studying inside the 库 during this past year, we are offering a visual glimpse of students at 奥尔登图书馆 in a photo essay.

The Lynn Johnson Collection 2021
20世纪70年代, Lynn Johnson was the first woman staff photographer for The Pittsburgh Press before she started her lifelong passion as a freelance photojournalist.
Johnson gifted her archive of nearly two million images to newbb电子平台 库 in 2011, where the collection continues to grow and mirror her active career and engagement with 俄亥俄州 students. In 2017, Johnson’s distinctive work was recognized with a Medal of Merit awarded by the newbb电子平台 Alumni Association.
